What Year Is It (34)?

Clues:

Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio are married; The Chordettes’ “Mr. Sandman” is a blockbuster hit; Howard Stern is born & Enrico Fermi dies; The New York Giants win the World Series; Food rationing ends in Great Britain; President Eisenhower gives his “dominos theory” speech; Bill Haley & The Comets record “Rock Around the Clock”; and the Unification Church is founded in South Korea.

  • Could it be 1954? Giants beat Indians. My dad railed against the Indians for using up their pitching to win 111 games - out of 154. Also, take note of how messed up Britain was by WWII. Nine years later and food is still rationed. Sounds about right for Ike's speech, too. Hated rock around the clock. Musical snob. Summertime and Lollipop were much better.
