Wait, What Am I Supposed To Buy?

There's so much to love about seamless corporate global integration, everything from the erosion of worker power in the U.S. to cultural tradtions appropriated for advertising. Like this Thai commericial, where hip modern marketing figured out that the best way to sell lightbulbs is with a Kra-Sue ghost and a transvestite.

This seems very strange from our comfy perpsective at Splice Today World Headquarters. We're always on the look-out for subconcious exoticized cultural othering, so we won't say too much about the various ghosts, or the transvestite for that matter. We'll leave it at this: they're sitting outside. Lightbulbs work inside. So we're not quite clear on how Sylvania lightbulbs would save this family from a horrible ghost massacre, but that's probably because of our Western privelege.
